Data if your directory name has spaces in it you have to use quotes in dosbox:
mount c "c:\Program Files\Ultima Underworld-The Stygian Abyss\"

Hi everyone. I think I may have posted about this before but I'm back because after totally giving up on this game, I've decided that I just can't do it. So, I'm looking for help, specifically someone who has the patience to deal with a newbie because I am really DOSbox challenged. (and apparently Ultima Underworld challenged too)

I've had a heck of a time trying to get this game to run (and I did see that there is a patch, but that was something else I couldn't get to work either. SIGH)

Here's how I have my game right now, I've extracted it into Program Files and it's in a folder titled Ultima Underworld-The Stygian Abyss. Inside I've got the UW.exe file and that is what I've tried to use in DOS box. I've tried moving the whole Ultima folder into my C: drive so that in DOS box I can go:
mount c c:\ultimaunderworld but when I do that it tells me that there is no such directory. I tried adding "the stygian abyss" at the end, not knowing if that mattered, and had the same message. Then I tried just doing: mount c c:\UW and again it tells me there is no such directory. So, I'm pretty sure at this point that I'm either not getting something, or am just doing it all wrong.

So, I would love it if someone could walk me through this step by step and treat me as if I am a two year old who has never used DOS box. Because even though I have, for some reason, I just can't get it to work w/ this game.

Thank you so much in advance---it makes me crazy when I find old games that I never got to play and then have the chance to play them now, only to find that I can't get them to work.

PS I did try that thing where you move your .exe file right onto the DOSbox icon but I get an error message when I do that as well.

Tracy, the desperate
