I think there were some drivers for DOS 6 that allowed using long file names in it. DOSLFN, or sth. |

Glad you finally got it working. I hope you enjoyed it, after all that. You may also enjoy Return Of The Phantom - it's made by the same people. k: |

Ah I tried playing it direct with VDM, but I believe I did download the archive you reviewed, since it was well within the first couple of hours of being released on the site, when it was only being considered that the full sound be added. At least it's all sorted now, and it only took me a few hours to complete the game n_n Hehe. Onto something else I guess, that game has got me in the mood to play Legend of Kyrandia 1, hmm so many similaries... |

Loz, I just noticed this thread. The archive I reviewed was different to the archive that is on the site now. I think, with this new archive, sound has already been set, so you don't have to worry about setting it up. You should be able to play the game with VDMSound or DosBox straight away. Don't worry about setting up the sound now. Sorry about the confusion. |

I don't ever remember having an 8 character limit back when I used dos, how odd n_n heh. Thank you, it works perfectly now, no need to change the memory settings either. |

dosbox wants directory names which are maximum 8 letters. Just as dos did.. |

Hmm, I decided it best to wait 'til I could get onto my laptop and give it a go on there without any extra issues...but now I'm having problems using dosbox. I've never used the program before, so I followed the directions on the Dosbox site, mounted the correct directory and made a folder under the C drive for Old Games. When I got to the simple stage of typing in C: cd Dragonsphere It prompted me with the message: Unable to change to: Dragonsphere So I'm stuck really, and the Dosbox forums were rather daunting, heh. Is there something really obvious I'm missing? |

Mighty Midget | try this: In the lower right on the task bar, there is a Language selector. Select a different language, one with a different key layout. That way the \ will be re-assigned to a key that works. Then, when you have typed what you need, you can change back to the original language. (Works, if you have multiple language support installed, which often is the case) | |
