So I am trying to remember the name of a game I played in the 90's. It was a top-down RPG, similar to Diablo. I am sure it was on a Windows 95 system and feel pretty sure that it was likely SVGA.
In the game you played a magician/sorcerer's apprentice. The magician was killed in the opening sequence and then you pretty much jump into the game. I remember needing a catalyst of sorts to cast spells. the graphics were decent for the time and included video cut scenes. I distinctly remember one of the enemy mobs being a floating eyeball that shot fire or lightning at the player and was a pain in the a$$ to kill.
As far as box art goes, I think it had a picture of an ankh or something similar on the cover. I could have sworn it was made by SSI, but I have thoroughly scanned their titles and feel it isn't one of theirs.
If anyone can help me with the title, or better yet, a download... YOU'D BE MY HERO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
