I have a huge collection of Abandonware and I've been very good at finding even the most rare games. Only ONE game from my childhood eludes me. I have very little info about it, which is the only reason why I haven't found it!

I played it in the early '90s, judging by the graphics, it might have been made in the late '80s at the earliest. The only place I saw this arcade cabinet was in a Builder's Emporium (like Home Depot, but it no longer exists) in Orange County where I grew up (why they had an arcade cabinet at a Builder's Emporium I don't know).
Anyway, it was a racing game, it was city racing with sci-fi/futuristic open-wheeled race cars. I THINK it was night time only, I remember it having a very dark color pallet. I remember thinking how interesting it was that the roads had huge dips in them, which was somewhat novel at the time. So you would see cars disappear over the apex and you would follow them in and I believe you gained speed going into them.

Any ideas?

Info about where have you played it is only useful for your neighbours.
To search databases we need info such as: how many players at once? what were the controls? was the screen vertical or horizontal? was it bird's-eye-view perspective or behind-the-car?

That with dips (& being novel at the time) and open-wheeled cars sounds familiar. Might that be Road Hog (http://www.mobygames.com/game/dos/road-hog/screenshots)? Though it's not exactly futuristic, but it was quite a nice game at the time, and its tracks are mostly in / between cities.

...but he searches for a coin-operated arcade cabinet game.
