Hi folks!

I'm looking for a presumably mid 90's post apocalyptic survival simulation. I recall it was called Survivor but can't find the game under that name. I already tried post-apocalyptic games on wikipedia but couldn't find it in the list. Here's what I recall of the title:

Build up management/simulation/strategy game. Graphics something like a cheap civilisation/colonisation but beyond Roadwar 2000. I'm pretty sure it was VGA. You had to do a lot of planning, constructing, building and exploring to do. You also had to form militia to battle marauding hostile forces. I don't recall if there even was a plotline or any major storyline events. Mostly a survival management game.

I look forward to wild guesses and sound assumptions :)

Global Effect is the closest one I can find. http://www.mobygames.com/game/dos/global-effect
Could be Burntime, but that has a bit better graphics than what you describe: http://www.mobygames.com/game/dos/burntime

Sadly both not what I am looking for. The game seemed to be pretty much under the radar. Burntime for example was way too 'popular' I guess.

was it really 4x? it sounds a bit like alpha centauri, but that is set at an alien world

so: the management part: did you just order buildings built or did you have to choose where to place them. Did you build inside cities or on the worldmap? turn based or real time?

exploration: most of the world black or filled in but important sites undiscoered? option c?

what resources did you have to manage? how did various screens look like? research? Any special names that suddenly catch your mind? (an example, I used to play a mmog where one of the ultimate tech/weapons was CWM, Cybantropic War Machines. It's been ages since I played it, but anyone who played it semi-regularly will know what I mean, I hope - just remembered, War of Conquest, sorry, off-topic)

I'm sure not everything is on there, but it's a try, I couldn't find anything
