i wanna find and old strategy game. Unfortunately i cant remember the title, all i remember is there were 2-3 factions. one facton was the Chinese empire, one was Russia and one was the US i think.
there were droids, tanks, helicopters and ships u could control.
u could also built turrets near ur factories.
the factories were already built and u could capture them.
one droid was called kamikaze, and one turret was called sundance.
when tanks or helicopters were destroyed they left a wreckage at that spot.
there was a unit called garbage collector that could collect that wreckage and convert it to gold or coins that were used to build units and turrets.
i dont remember anything else. so if anyone recognizes this game i will be really grateful. thanks
in the single player campaign u could choose any of the factions. each had its own campaign. the campaign was about world domination.each faction had their own unique units.
i played it roughly 7-10 years ago

[edit]
i dont remember any of the story. but i think it was post world war 3. it had futuristic components like a unit which could paralyze all units around it by jamming the signals going to them. also the map was like a grid with one unit occupying one square (diff from other games cauz u could choose to see the grid lines).

The only strategy I recall which had wreck salvaging AND jamming AND robots was Total Annihilation (http://www.mobygames.com/game/windows/total-annihilation), but it's not the answer to your question.

Are you describing an RTS? Grid on map is rare in these games, was it real time? Was the view top-down or full 3D with perspective?

I'm not familiar with Supreme Commander (http://www.mobygames.com/game/supreme-commander).

Shattered Union (http://www.mobygames.com/game/windows/shattered-union) had different kinds of droids and recognizable factions. It also has a hex grid which can be turned off.

Shattered Union look like a nice wargame. I wonder why the ratings are so low.

Perhaps it's one of the games in the Earth 21xx series? http://www.mobygames.com/game-group/topware-earth-series

Z didn't have wreck salvaging, but vehicles which can be captured (if you shoot the driver).

it is an RTS
it was only top-down view.
it wasnt part of any series.
it dint hav any aliens in it
and there were no human units.

the setting was in the future where the robots, tanks and everything else was all remotely controlled. so there was no driver or anything for the units.

No human units (infantry, drivers etc.) may mean this is a German game - violence against human/living beings is often removed by developers to avoid censorship.

I've noticed that you haven't specified if the game was real-time or turn-based, but since you mention a grid it's probably the latter.

Your description reminded me of the German Battle Isle (http://www.mobygames.com/game/battle-isle-2200) series but that games take place on another planet, although there are both modern day type combat vehicles (tanks, helicopters) and robots in lieu of infantry.

Lol, I was compiling an entire list of possible games: Robo Rumble, Outlive, Metal Fatigue, Dark Reign, Machines, Warzone 2100, Extreme Tactics, Hostile Waters: Antaeus Rising...

Glad that you managed to find it. :OK:

it is an RTS
Whoops, somehow I missed that part.

Nice you remembered your game after all :) MobyGames doesn't have an entry about it, but here's a review (http://www.game-over.net/review/july99/mayday/index.html) with screenshots. BTW, my guess that it's from a German developer was correct :)

There is an entry (http://www.mobygames.com/game/windows/mayday-conflict-earth) - sometimes the search engine can fail its designed task.

Kind of weird, as I also used Google (which I trust more than internal search engines) and didn't notice a result for MobyGames. But I didn't look through all of them of course.

What is more strange that MobyGames does not bring up the suggestion when I type the incomplete title (http://www.mobygames.com/game/mayday) in the address bar. By contrast, a Russian gaming website called Absolute Games, which uses the same format for game page addresses as MobyGames, will get you directly to the game most relevant page if an incomplete title is give in the address bar (e.g. typing <site address>/games/warcraft will bring you to Warcraft: Orcs & Humans, /games/solar-winds gets you to Solar Winds: The Escape etc.).

Not to mention that Mayday's entry on Moby's desperately needs replacement. I'll bet it's one of those 10+year old entries noone would approve today.

Metal fatigue doesn't fully fullfill your request, however its really good... you should try it out.
