Latvias are quite rare in the world. Sometimes when you are quite lucky you can find one near Russia and Estonia ... but you must be lucky. normally Latvias prefer colder environments.

Take a look here to see how those little Latvias look. :bleh:

But now seriously...

Latvia was one of those places, that were the target of both Polish and Soviet army before WW2. It was one of the countries that actually was occupied by the soviet regime and was made a part of the Soviet Union (with other countries there were other scenarion, but with the three baltic states this was the case).

Unfortunately I haven't been there yet, but I hear it's really interesting. The traditional food encludes quite a lot of meat (you can never go wrong with red meat) k:

I hope you mean the Nazis, because it's pretty wierd to know that ploes wnated to invade us (allthough as far as I can tell we used to be part of Reczpospolita back when, so they could rpobably have territorial calims too).

as for making it soviet, that happened before WWII, in 1940 (why just 2 days ago we had 'deportation day', which was the day that either the day that first or last train with Latvians was sent to siberia in 1940).

It was POLAND. In the mid 20s when the Polish army and the Red Army were in direct war - both sides were among other fighting over the Baltic states. And as for the Nazis goes - they had a pact with the Soviets at that time remember. They attacked Poland together from each side and it was then that the Soviets got the Baltic states (and went to war with Finland).
