This seems to be one of those games you can't run on a modern OS. It has the same problems as Amber: Journeys Beyond. I would either use virtual pc or use a machine with 95 on it.

As said, Nine runs fine in dosbox-Win3.
And Amber, someone does some work on it. http://www.squirtthecat.com/games/amber/index.html If it's worth the hassle as Amber also runs fine in VPC, is doubtfull. It still installs a lot of obsolete DLLs and that darn QT player.
