I'm considering the purchase of either or both these titles, but I'm looking for detailed feedback. Have you played 'em? Did you like or dislike 'em--and if so, why? Always keeping in mind what the developer sought to achieve. Neither is meant to be combat-intensive, and I'm looking for space strategy sims with strong economic content. Thanks!

You can always try the Demos first. It's always a good idea.

Already have done so; but I like getting second opinions from those with longer experience with the games.

I'm inclining towards purchasing Smugglers 3, too. Starship Tycoon was, frankly, a bit of a bore. But I was willing to hold off final judgment until I heard from others who have tried it and perhaps enjoyed it.
