Default A wizard battle / chess game [plus finding two more]

I didn't want to flood this place with separate threads for each, but if it's that's frowned to put them together, let me know and I won't do it again.

All are late 80's, early 90's.

The first, I don't know what it is. The second two are just impossible for me to find.

The first, possibly called "arena" but you are either a wizard or a warlock. Two player versus only. Turn-based. Top down, 2-D graphics on a grid of grass, trees, and other obstructions.

Each player starts by selecting spells. Then the round begins and each wizard can use their turn to cast magic, build fortifications, or summon many different types of creatures, from elves to dragons. If you have a summoned monster, you can also move and attack with it. The goal is to kill the other wizard. It's like a hardcore, fantasy version of chess in a gigantic field.

The second game is "duel" (NOT "Duel to the Death") and I even have a URL for it:

https://archive.org/details/DueldosGame

The description is correct but the zip, and the image are actually from "Duel to the Death", which has its own internet archive page. Basically, it's like leiro/molez, verses, but top-down ASCII (like ZZT). 2-player verses, real-time. You've got selections of weapons, you can pick up and use different weapons. You can trigger traps and mines.

The third game, I also have details for. Laser Lock. Freeware, DOS, using the Allegro game programming library. It was hosted on Allegro.CC but the zip is corrupted, or it uses a rare archive tool because 7zip can read but not extract it ("unsupported compression method") and PKUNZIP does the same.

The game is somewhat confusing, but you have a random generated space station, aliens are boarding. Turn-based, you have to open/close airlocks to get as many people to safety as possible. You can also vent to space. I had a "special" strategy where I would lock off as many people as I could, and then detonate a bomb on the other side and suck all those alien dots back into space. It's like a much earlier version of Zombie Atom Smasher.

For the first I just want it clarified it is not either Archon or Archon Ultra.

Another possibility is Chaos, although this one was for Spectrum.

I found one! Thanks to your suggestions I was able to do some more sleuthing. It was a Chaos remake/derivative. It turns out multiple people have looked for this game as well.

Arena, by Benjamin Peterson, 1995.

See ARENA20.zip.

Actually, bigger Chaos remake already hit Steam, if you are interested...

(And maybe you'll be interested in fact that Gollops made Magic & Mayhem earlier - available right here, on Abandonia - that used the same Chaos principles, but in realtime strategy environment instead turn-based).

And thanks to Wayback machine you can get real Laser Lock here.

And thanks to your description, it's easy to track "real" Duel. CD.TEXTFILES.COM strikes again!
