Thumbs up

Does anyone know how to get the sound working in Battle Chess? It keeps giving me the message...'Use Standard Mode [win/s] to allow for sound'
What does that mean and how to do do it?

You can't have the sound in that game unless you run it with Windows 3.1 and turn a special mode on.

Sorry, no workaround.

I've got sound in Battle Chess, and I'm running it in DOSbox. :w00t:

It's not the one from this site though, it's an original copy.

Now that I think of it, it was probably pointless for me to post. ...Don't worry, I'll just crawl back into my hole.

Is it just a hunch or the sound could be achieved in Virtual PC running Win 3.11?

I am pretty sure the version on this site is a version either for Windows or which came with a Windows version. If you have a DOS version then you could upload it to Abandonia and make it available for all.

You are right. I wasn't aware this game turned ESA protected.

Thanks for telling me!
