I honestly haven't any clue as to what my favorite rpg would be. I've been gaming for years and there have been a number of great games along the way. In recent years I've most enjoyed Baldur's Gate 2 and Icewind Dale although I've slowed down and haven't played as many rpgs lately due to time restrictions.
I'm really surprised noone has mentioned the System Shock games at all. Those are pretty fine rpgs. |

First RPG i played was when i was 12 and my parents bought for me the Hero Quest Board Game...that was excellent, and probably the best RPG ive ever played being that it was my first time...i still love it but ive got no one to play against ...other than that, id have to say Fallout 2 - simply coz of the whole Mad Max thing...oh, and WASTELAND was brilliant!

I love all RPGS. Never had problems beating any of them I played, but I would say I loved the real ATB RPGS. (Secret of Mana, Secret of Evermore, Star Ocean, etc.) Its just more fun to strike your enemy and get away from it before it has a chance to hit you. Kinda keeps you on your toes, unlike Final Fantasy whereas you hold the same button down to attack and skip through conversations faster.

Very simplified, but... who has really heard of Roguelike genre ever being mentioned in gaming media during last half decade?

I loved the old AD&D games, but also love FF series... fallout is great, neverwinter nights is good... basically I have very few RPGs that I don't like to play and the only one I'm bored with easily is Dungeon Siege

Diablo one and two are as much RPG than board wargames belong to the action group. My ear twist and my body hair frickle everytime I hear someone say that, which mean they been successfully brainwashed by the big game companies...

Well RPG can be a lot of things and in theory everytime we play a game where we put ourselves in the main character's position is RPG
But I agree... Diablo series is not RPG in that matter |

I had to vote for Adom, as it kept me interested for 15 minutes.
