Alright, fine, that was a generalization.

Smarter people over-analyze the problem and try to come up with complex solutions. Less intelligent individuals are more likely to see it in simple terms, and thus reach the simple conclusion.

Looking @ the problem in a logical way is better then a mathematical way.

Didn't take me many minutes to figure it out first time i saw this problem.
My more mathematical skilled friends took much longer before they cracked it however.

Yeah I think the more mathematical orientated people have problems with it, but people who are more practical would pick it out easier. Would make an interesting survey I think.
