From a shop and with lots of LUCK. As it isn't abandonware yet, you have to buy it. Try also eBay. Good game though. A very good example of a strategy game that's well balanced in everything. I had AOE and the rome expansion pack, but I don't have the CD's anymore.

I always hated AOE cause the computer units were just stronger than your units. I remember having two up to date axe-warrior and one cookie-cutter unit was killing him.

It always made me really angry.

Funny, everyone I know that is a gamer used to love these games. I never tried them and never got into them. To me, they just looked like C&C except in a medieval setting. Were they really that fun?

Actually they aren't all in a medieval setting. AOEI is in ancient world (Rome and stuff) and AOEII is in medieval setting. AOE3 is in imperialistic times (1800's), I think so.

I liked AOEI. The Al difficulty was brilliant! It was aggressive usually and it was very hard, but it was possible to win it. The maps and campaigns were very nice and historically elaborate, and there was so many campaigns, that it would take for me at least a year to pass them all. There were plenty of different unit types and buildings and actually none of them were gratuitous. I could spend a whole day to list all the positive points in the game , so I stop here.

@ Icewolf

I don't think they are any stronger than your troops. They just can use all of them at the same time very well.

@ kaali

I think what he's saying is that a unit weaker than his unit in a fair one-on-one fight was winning...

Sorry, my mistake! I haven't experienced such problems. Maybe your troops had too few health, or ...

No, both same health. Mine better weapons. Still losing... <_<

I liked the technical inventions and the advancement to later ages but fighting was always an nuisiance to me.

I went back and installed my old copy a while ago. Problem is, it just pales in comparison to stuff that came out since. Age of Mythology is still awesome though.
