Default Virtua Tennis [SOLD]

I hope someone can help me with this. I remember playing a very cool tennis game several years ago, but I can't remember it's name. As a wild guess I'd say it's approximately 10 years old. I used to play tennis in real life, and I can say the gameplay was quite realistic. You had to aim carefully, and the longer you kept the fire bar pressed, the harder your shot. The faster you were in position, the longer you could keep the bar pressed, the harder you could shoot. You also had to put a lot of variation in your play to win games. It took me quite some practice to get to the final stages, and these were very difficult. In fact, you had to play an almost perfect game to beat the best, but it was possible. You could play training or match, single/double, hardcourt/gravel/grass. I remember you started from a world map view, where you could choose between several games/trainings at different locations. When you successfully completed one of them, your rank increased, and harder games/trainings became available.

There were different types of training, and they were all fun to play. Some of them I remember :
- Forehand and Backhand Training : a board just before the net, divided in 12 numbered squares. You had to hit all 12 numbers within a certain time limit.
- Smash Training : several big balls (light weight) on the other side of the net. You had to hit them and get them all outside the lines of the playing field within a certain time limit.
- Lob training : several numbered baskets placed on the other side of the net. You had to drop a ball in each of the baskets within a certain time limit.
- Service training : several cones places on the other side of the net, you had to throw them all down with your service within a certain time limit.
- Return training : about six machines on the other side would shoot green and red balls in your direction. You had to hit the machines with the green balls to disable them. If you hit a red ball, one of the disabled machines would start shooting again. You had to disable all the machines with a certain time limit.

I think there were even more trainings, but I can't remember them. At higher levels, the same training came back, but with a shorter time limit.

I would be very grateful if anyone could tell me name of this game. And if it's abandonware, I would be even more grateful if it would be put on abandonia. Thans in advance, guys !

This has to be Virtua Tennis. All the training possibilities you described, are in that game.

The only thing, that makes me wonder, is your suggestion you played it 10 years ago....
I remember playing it first arcade and then on the dreamcast. The PC-Version seems to be 4 years old by the way.

Yeah, that seems to be the one. I can hardly believe it's only 4 years ago. Thanks.

But Hitmaker, the developer is a subsidiary/division of SEGA, so I guess it goes under a 10-year protection.
