some files were missing from the zip file when i downloaded it. so right after leaving the castle i went straight to the airport, bypassing the "hitler checkpoint sign your pass" episode that i hear about in the walkthroughs i have found. so i couldn't finish the game.

besides that, it was a very fun game.
Can someone confirm whether this is true or not? I own the game for amiga, but would like to play it again. But it isn't worth it if the game's not complete.

When you got caught in the Castle by Colonel Vogel (I guess that was his name) you can give him the real Grail Diary or Indy's child-days-diary, which looks similar. If you give him the wrong diary, there's no need for Indy to go to Berlin (to get the Grail Diary back), so he goes straight to the airport. I was able to try both ways, so there's nothing missing in the Zip-Archive on Abandonia.

I cant seem to get the combo for the music in the catacombs done right.

Which is sad, since I do know how to read a musical score.

Can anyone help?

For some reason I cannot complete the musical puzzle in the catacombs.

Is the clue behind the puzzle symmetry, since there are six skulls but only 5 notes in the grail diary?

You just have to use the skulls like a piano, to play the melody described in the Grail Diary. I don't remember very well, but I think the rightmost skull corresponds to a 'C' in the notes.

Ah. With one note "fixed", the rest was "easy". Thanks.

So if those were in the G-key:

B-E-C-B-E is the pattern, I suppose

3 - 5 - 6 - 3 - 5

They aren't in keys. They are simply there. The first line (beloww the actual note lines) that's supposed to be C is the first skull. Every next line is one skull further - so top line is the last skull. This is actaually a case, where knowing the notes isn't helpful.
