I once have played a newer a newer version of Arkanoid. I also recall a game called Bananoid and another breakout game which was even older than this arkanoid here. Too bad that I can't remember its name anymore but it was great. You could chosse the classic breakout mode where the only target was to crush all bricks. Then there was an adventure mode, quite similar to arkanoid. Every Level looked different and you could gain extras like a bigger paddle. As I remember the goal was to hit a special brick so you could proceed to the next level. There was also a multiplayer mode included. It was one of the best breakout games i remember, although the graphic consisted only of gigantic pixels of different colors.

One thing you probably didn't know. First video-game ever was BONG! created in 1978. It was first arcade machine actually and it was made for 2 players. In 1979, man who's name Icant remember created another game whos name I also can't remember. It was first game for single player facing the machine. Yap, it was Arkanoid-type of a game. A bar you move, using a ball to destroy other bars. Simple as that. That's how video-games came to life.
First game in colours was Alien Invaders (it wasn't in colour, they just made screen to shine in green, but it was written in history) I'll find name of the game. It won't harm to have it somewhere if we are to become major abw site. |
