So we are talking about comic books?
Well then the only comics I read are Uncle Scrooge, Donald Duck and any other related with them. The Life and Time of Scrooge McDuck are the best comics I've ever read. I do hope we are talking about comic books or I shall look like a fool, won't I Sam? mmmmmmmmmm hmmmmmm das right, you will.   |

"The Man Who Grew Young"
I highly recommend it! Though it's not magna or a comic book, per se. It's a true graphic novel. |

Thank You!! I'm so glad someone mentioned "The Man Who Grew Young". I was about to say something about it. Absolutely incredible. My favorite. Daniel Quinn is an amazing writer.

Ghost Rider (the v2 with Dan Ketch) - heck, if this aint a graphic novel then I don't know what is one. I'm a fan of anyhting Ghost Rider, BTW.
Status 7 - Breakoff - This is a Polish production, dunno if any of you here ever heard of it - but it's freaking awesome, sorta take Neuromancer and add some wicked cool dialogues too. k: Even though it was published in episodes in computer games mag "Reset" (RIP) and I had all of these issues already, I purchased the tome as soon as it appeared. Universe Battle Angel Alita Somwhere in there also the good old Transformers... Autobots, TRANFORM! LOL EDIT: Gotta make a comprehensive list of these things... there is more then I have listed... |

often a comic series will end up being printed as a graphic novel later.
but some things come out as a graphic novel only. i like 'ghostworld' 'streak of chalk' (very strange story) V for vendetta but i havent read that many graphic novels |

I never heard of graphic novels.
So, graphic novels are novels with graphics not novels with graphic descriptions of bloody scenes?

Ohh boy... LOL. I collect manga, if that counts. But then again I'm young and can leech off my parents for cash. LOL. My absolute favs are:
Petshop of Horrors Chobits YGO (o.o don't shoot!) Shonen Jump Yuu Yuu Hakusho And I love, Love, LOVE the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. It's the ULTAMATE Victorian literature crossover fiction-type thing. Plus the fact that the movie could be called LX-Eyecandy. GNs are just illistrated novels. Manga, comic books, but not the tiny thin ones. GNs almost always have enough pages to be considered a novel. And yeah, it isn't just in Poland where they're expensive. A regular manga book, depending on the company printing it, is usually anywhere from $10.00 to $15.00 dollars in the States. It's because alot more work goes into them. There's not just a plot and dialoge, but it takes alot of work and talent to sit there and draw the entire book out, and then some of them are colored. So depending on your opinion, the extra cash can be worth it. Alot of it is opinion, though. Like my parents for whether or not they'll pay for more comic books for their kid, LOL. |
