I've been going through some of the topics today trying to catch up on some things, when I've noticed that there are a lot of spam posts by unregistered members? Is it possible that registration be required? I know it can turn off some people, but it really cuts down on chances of lotsa trolls and spamfiends.

I don't like this idea. Allowing guests brings far more normal posts than it does troll posts and it lets people get accustomed to the forum and grow a liking to it, this means they may register and help the site.

agree with r havell.
all ppl visiting abandonia and find the content usefull will sooner or later register. but restricting informations for registered users only is kind of narrow-viewed. this is more or less an open community, so we should not try to claim new users too firmly... |

Try and visit the forum as "guest".. it's quite restricted..
few topics visible, and even less "postable"..

Yeah I just checked out being a guest... Quite alot of it is changed. I also too this screenshot. It kinda shows how having guests on the site is important. I think it does anyway. If we disables guests, then there would be 30 or so less people here right now.

Maybe restrict guests to, say, 1 post every 15 mins or so, to prevent spam.

Actually....
The worst spammers are the members. ESPECIALLY when they are drunk! <_<

Bah, posting when you're drunk isn't fun.
Now playing an MMORPG while you're drunk, THAT'S fun! |
