Dosbox is 0.63
And the game crashes, dosbox is still open, it acts as if the application simply ended. Just waiting for me to type something. No error messages. Its just...lets say, if I run it in D:/dosbox/pp/psycho.exe, then the only thing that remains in the dosbox window after the game crashes, is this path. |

Dosbox 0.63 is an outdated version from two years ago.
Install 0.71 (the newest) and see how that works. |

so I tried the cp/psycho thing in dosbox 0.71, but it did the same thing...but it also wrote this in the Status Window: "Warning: file creation failed: c:\PP\OTHER\HISCORES.FLG"
what about that? |

ok, so the hiscores file was hidden and the "archive" button (or whatever it is called in english, I dunno, I have slovak version) was checked, and it was read only...I unchecked all and it worked
But I got another problem I don't know if I just got too used to the slow-mo game before, but it seems just FAR too crazy fast...the cpu cycles are max, I dunno how to change them...so...how can I slow it down a bit? A really don't think it's supposed to be THAT crazy fast... |

CTRL+F11 will decrease the number of cycles DOSBox is running at.

Eh. It's pinball. Who can go wrong with pinball! One of my first DOS games was a pinball game.

Does anyone know how to rip the music? I've found the samples in modplug, but how can i convert the tunes to MOD / S3M / whatever? even the Game Music Database (mirsoft.info) does not have them...

I love this game, but i hate how Dosbox responds kinda slow to keystrokes. It's really hard to get the timing right. And the sound has terrible delays too. I did try to lower the buffer and block size of DosBox, but it still feels like laggy. The game is not slow (it's very fast with the cycles set to max), it's just the keyboard and the sound that feels slow. Any more suggestions? Somehow i feel you just need a badass 486DX to play this game!! This game definitely is worth having one. (-:
And to rip the music... Just record it? The new Dosbox has a record function. There's a short-cut key that starts and stops audio recording. I once recorded the intro music, because i wanted to learn to play that guitar solo (-: |
