I'd say if you're careful and use common sense, Windows Firewall and Defender is enough and you don't need any "extra" protection.

Most the most part I agree!
The only problem is XP has a big loophole that causes crashes (BSOD) if you leave it connected to the internet for long (maybe months). Vista has a loophole that causes lost of CD drive showing up that apparently could be fixed with a patch. Etc. depending on your Windows because of updates or whatever. However for the most part if you are careful those are the only ones I have encountered however I do not update Windows Defender at all!

He-he. Unfortunately, whole hacker/virus/firewall problem arises from unability to follow common sense all the time. Just as with real viruses.
