Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.

Born 1986 and you think you're old.

Bwahahahaha!

Try '76 baby! 30 years young.

You have not lived long enough to brandish 'curmudgeon' like that. You may think you're curmudgeonly; old fashoned, cranky, and think you know stuff, but trust me youngin', you ain't old enough.

Son, I played these game when they first came out, and I'm talking all the way back to Atari. The original Archon for the Atari 800? Yup, and I hated it. Why? I was too young! Took me years to develop a liking for it. Infact it was Star Control that turned me around. (See my review for Star Control on this site.) But by then I was a bit older.

As for the alt attacks, you know, the download has a manual in PDF format right there next to the executable. Gots all sorts of fantistic information in there. Keys to use, everything. Check it out.

Man, I'm being cranky tonight. Must be past my bedtime.

Hoo, boy. Can't wait to get this old Gramma klikkin'. Oh, and if anyone was wondering, the Phoenix is invincible. Seriously! Just run from them and use the alternate attack. Kills everything every time. Almost makes it boring, to be honest.

I found the Banshee to be pretty unbeatable, too, at least against the computer.

Just keep throwing your face at the enemy. Afaik every enemy gets instantly killed when 3 faces are rolling beneath him. Even the Phoenix or the Mage.

Don't exactly know how the face-attack works, but it did pretty well for me.

Seems that functioning varies heavily from one machine to another, so... trial and error!

I can't run it! Black screen Look what i've read at http://www.gamesover.com/walkthroughs/archon_ultra.txt
If you're running Windows 95 or lower,
everything is A-OK. If you're running Windows 98, you'll have to run Archon
Ultra is DOS mode, but everything will still be A-OK -- you'll just have to
go through a reboot when you're done playing. But if you have ANY VERSION OF
WINDOWS LATER THAN 98, you *CANNOT* play Archon Ultra. Period. So before you
go hunting around trying to find this game, please keep this in mind!
