WooW, I never knew that a MS-DOS version of the old Ocean classic 'Lost Patrol' existed at all
I never managed to get through this one in my early years of computer gaming. And even when I tried the amiga version recently it was quite hard - if not unsoluble.
Now, does anyone know the port of this one? Is it good or not? And if - why?
Are there any people who beat it?
Many questions. I hope I don't overextend you!?

Well, well, well.... my german co-abandonaim from fluvium rhenum...

I share your enthusiasm for Lost Patrol! I even asked for a remake on AR since I think, that it should be re-made in the graphical and accoustical greatness of the Amiga!

But - silence...

I never managed to get too far, since I was quite young when I played it and when I grew older Amiga was like "ancient" and my disks were broken. So no chance of replaying.
Never managed to get an Amiga emu running on my system. <_<

I just noticed we don't feature it on this very site. I'm sure I've already asked for its abandonware-status but I don't remember.

Well, anyways Lost Patrol by Ocean - :brain: :brain: :brain:
and not to forget

What a shame. A great idea, me thinks. Do you have any programming skills?

That wouldn't be a problem at all. I could help you out...

Well according to Tom's all-wise list it definately is abandonware. But I never played the dos version and I don't know if it's worth a single thought...

Nope, just a bit html and css but I rarely use them.

I guess it'd be worth a push on AR once more. I'm sure they could contact the programmers.

With both of them if you need to. But one thing must be clear: you must be a real nostalgic in order to enjoy playing via an emulator like WinUAE. It isn't that comfortable IMO. But on the other hand: one can get used to nearly anything, right?

EDIT: To whom it may concern ==> The Lost Patrol

Definately the amiga version. The vga version just uses 16 colours AFAIK. And the sound wasn't ported at all or just very crappy. Another begative point is that in the dos version there isn't mouse support.
