Ok, This game worked fine when I first downloaded it. I tried to boot it up again later, and I can only get as far as; my guy jumps out and pulls out his sword and hits the first guy there. Then my game freezes, what should I do?

Prince of Persia 2 worked for me in Windows 98, so I can't help you.
Did you try using the D-Fend frontend or did you just not know how to work DOSBox? |

Even tough some people claims DOSBox works fine on Windows 98/95, very few persons actually managed to make it run on it.
Besides, the first reason to stick to Windows 98/95 and not switch to XP in the first place would be processing power lacking somewhat, and DOSBox needs a lot of power to run decently... As far as I am concerned, D-fend is only a tool to help you configure games under DOSBox, so if DOSBox doesn't work then D-fend won't help much. But I never used D-fend, so others may want to correct me on this. |

If you're playing the game in Windows 98, play it either through the Dos prompt-attachment or quit Windows and start it in Dos-mode. I guess this should end the problem.

If you’re using Win98, do what they mentioned before, but keep in mind that to play old DOS games in Windows 98, you have to make sure that you have your sound card properly set, and that you have enough conventional memory to start the game. (just type “mem” and you'll get all numbers you'll need)
There is more stuff to know, and it can be different for different systems. |

I just managed to recover the helpfile I was talking about on another thread and posted it in my newly created "Look here first" thread.
It's really a good helpfile and I used it when I still owned Windows 98. It's the big quoted text. Explain about all you need to know for those DOS configuration files. |
