I don't understand the neo nazis.* What do they want, gain control of the country and make war against whom?*
Those neo nazis aren't the problem. Most of them are just shallow-minded jerks, who like to beat up other people, riot through public festivals and use the nazi propaganda to provoke others. Most of them don't even understand why they are doing this. They are hooligans, nothing more.

Well, they are a problem after all, but the real problem are the people behind them. Often well situated fellows, who abstruct the history and aims of the nazis for their own political issues without having any real contents in their programmes. The alarming fact is, that these people start to organize themselves and gain favor, especially in the eastern parts of Germany. They do even have a small political fraction in the Landtag at Dresden (i think it was Dresden). This results in the current weakness of our major parties imho, but you can't say often enough that these groups may become dangerous someday.

Do not elect nor support far right oriented parties!

This should count for every country, but especially for Germany, as we still have some of the nazi ideology in our minds (often learnt in school as a bad example, but often misunderstood)

I am disturbed with a situation in Latvia where today in day of a victory people assign flowers to monuments to SS soldiers , and in every possible way glorify the third Reich .Awful .

Well although most people are yelling at the top of their lung about the neo-nazis in Germany, they aren't the group that really conserns me that much.
It's much scarier, that in Italy people like Mussollini's grand-daugther are trying to gain political power by fraud.
And that nationalst have considerable power in Austria (Jorg Heider).

Mostly because Austria was considered a victain of the Raich and Italy changed its status after the capitulation... So those countries have never confronted their own past and have in a way supported war criminals (especially Italy - where both the Communist and Fashist movement made many crimes during the war, but later didn't clear them out, because each side was pointing to the other - so they both kept quite).

You're one good example of how grand a success the re-educational process after WW2 was in this country.

they don't glorify the third reich. they mourn their ancestors and comrades in arms- many of them had to (willingly or not- both hapenned) join the SS forgein legions. While I have none and we even had a big event in my ex-school (to which I attended) to remind the childeren of what it was, and what it cost us (~25 M of lives), I still ride in the same buses and eat in the same cafees as those who are 'from the otrher side of the front', and I believe they feel the same as we do.

Вспомните ребята, вспомите ребята-
Это отлько мы видали с вами,
Как они шагали от военкомата,
С бритыми навечно гловами...

It is very disturbing indeed.
Not so long ago a couple of people were arrested for interrupting an SS-gathering in Latvia and were given a pretty big fine.

Austria (Jorg Heider)
Didn't he quit from politics recently? Or did he just leave the party he was in?
Jorg doesn't bother me that much, he showed that he was all words but in truth a bad leader (like most extreme-right parties, I believe. They're great at pointing out the flaws until its their turn to fix it... not that all their ideas are entirely wrong mind you)

In London they're having a big concert with loads of airhead pop stars and idiotic celebrities.* In Berlin they're celebrating their liberation from facism BUT there are also some far-right neo-nazis who are going to mourn their defeat.* They'll probably meet up somewhere and there'll be a big fight and all the neo-nazis will ge their a$$s kicked LOL
I was right! :Brain:

It seems that some world leaders aren't above blatant explotation of this event for political capital <_<
