I don't feel responsible about it, but I feel sorry for them. I never agree with war no matter the reason, be it anti-terrorist or for the oil or whatever. War is just bad, nobody wins. Casualties in both sides, blood and gore, pain and stuff. I don't agree to fight against terrorist with weapons. Hatered and agression only yields the same in return.

People shall get along with each other, accept each others opinions and be more acceptive. Maybe I sound a bit too idealistic but that's just me.

I'm no pacifist. If somebody wants to go to war and die, their choice, I cannot do much about it, can I? Less aggressive morons... <_<

Why would I feel guilty?

I did all I could to try and prevent that war - I said clearly I don't want that war to happen (but who'd listen to me).
Apart from that - that's no concern of mine really. My country isn't at war with Afganistan, I never contributed to war in Afganistan and I never encouraged anybody to go and wage war on Afganistan.
There are some other people however, who should have a guilty conscience (mostly CIA superiors who helped the Taliban regime to come to power, and Soviets who invaded Afganistan in 1978, and US who wanted to ensure Afganistan as their base against the USSR, and of course the administration that ordered the attack...). BTW they did catch Osama didn't they

@Play.
A woman from work and I were talking about how if G8 nations would take just like 10 or 20 % of thier budget on military spending and sent it to developing nations the difference it would make. I wonder if without war, we would just atrophy and stop developing as a race, or if we would advance more rapidly.

@Seb.
That's one of the things that really bothered me the most; how the focus shifted from Sadam Back to Osama and then back again, kind of like a Penn and Teller routine. Parallel to this, something that really bothered me was the fact that the reason for invading Iraq changed literely weekly. It went from terrorist connections, to Sadams tyranny, then to WMD's then back to terrorist connections.....it turns out that the only true reason was Sadams tyranny and I have heard on many occaisions that Iraqi's over there would welcome him back with smiles and tears of joy compaired to the situation they are in now....only time will tell I suppose.

Yes, but then I forget about it all and go back to my life.

Because I cannot do anything about the US government sending American troops, the British government sending British troops, or even my Dutch government collaborating with the British and Americans.

I am living in the free world but on the other side of the globe innocent people are being bombed and killed in my name. And there's nothing I can do about it.

Perhaps I'm living in the Matrix after all.

Personally, I MYSELF do not feel guilty, being as I did nothing what so ever to promote, didn't vote for bush, buy stuff supporting the army, nothing. However, sometimes I do kinda feel sorry for the people there, but I don't feel guilt being as I did nothing, and can't do anything.

I feel nothing about it, I hate these stupid wars. Didn't the Americans learn their lesson in Vietnam? Never, ever engage an enemy which can be disguised as a civilian, especially not in territory you have no familiarity with.

Once your ego gets the better of you, you make crap decisions. That's what happened with Bush.

You need to add another option:

No, they reap what they sow and should expect civilian casualties if they send terrorists specifically to kill civilians.

A bit harsh? Maybe, but the worlds a harsh and unforgiving place. Fight fire with fire I say.

But who are "they" who reap what they sow? Surely not the civilians who end up being killed?

So... the people who sent the terrorist to attack the WTC have been captured and brought to justice (Osama is of course behind bars waitning for the chair) - and there were a few civilian casulties (probably supporters of the people training the terrorists).

Get real!

The responsible people (the real heads of Al-Queida) are still bird-free and numerous civilians who were suffering for decades got hurt in the attacks. That's not colateral demage - that's bloodshead, nothing less then a bloody masacre of the completely inocent population - and without even succeeding in carriying out the real mission.

Wake up and smell the stink of the propaganda!

EDIT:
And just so you know - the same thing "You reap what you sow" is what terrorist can say to you. You get bombed because you're helping to surpess the religions rights of the Islam extremists and by your logic they would be completely right and everyone who died in the bombing attack would well deserve it. So were you trying to say you think it's right that all the people got hurt in the several terrorist attacks?
