i'd hate to see what would happen with the 80 C mark , can we say fun with cooking your CPU . Mine only clocks around about 50 C when running , and about 45 when idle.

mine is usually about mid forties. the fact we never put the sides on the case helps. and maybe the fact it hasn't been in the case since.. uhm.. february?

I did a bit of a strange design of the casing for my mother's comp , I took it down in the basement and drilled a series of 9/16" holes in the casing to allow for more air ventilation . It looks as if someone took a machine gun to it !!!

hey rinforzando, Do you have a hsf(heat-sink/fan) on your cpu? or just a heat sink?
are you sure it is celcius and not 80 F? If you do have a hsf, I'm willing to bet there is either no thermal paste or pad between your heatsink and processor and if there is maybe the sticker isn't taken off. I can almost guarentee you that your cpu is not running at 80 degrees celcius, cause it would be cooked in about 1 hour.....if it is then thank God it hasn't vapourized yet. |

I got a P4 motherboard now. It stopped working once.
Problem: It decided not to like the fan ontop of the cpu being attached on a certain side.

I'm glad in a way not to have a p4 motherboard . I'm still working on the original motherboard that came with my P166 . Titan sure made tough motherboards back in the day.

No problems with my P4 motherboard (Aopen), it was the cheapest P4 board I could find and it runs perfectly...

My P4 rig is the shiznitz, it's the new Socket 775 though so it idles on around 55c and load 70c. I'm using a cpu cooler I kinda made myself because everything I bought and tried on it made too much noise. It's the only fan in the computer if you don't count the "little" VGA fan on my X850XT PE.
And yeah, I play CSS btw, I'm on xfire if you wanna contact me, same nick. |
