Opeth - Godhead's Lament... just ended.

Opeth - The Baying of the Hounds. \o/ Oh God... I love those clean vocal parts so much (even if I like the growling parts as well).

These songs never get old. So much variation in them... Unlike most pop music...

They're overrated in my opninion, but still good.

I would gladly have started a arguement on your comment on pop-music up there, if my english language skills were better. I hate how metalheads and/or "alternative" people has to distance themselves from anything mainstream and popular, and have this ghey arrogant attitude against it, that thier music is far better.... i hate that, i hate a lot, now i'll go hate my breakfast because im unemployed and only wearing underpants, and getting a bit fat..rauwr :E
(and i would call Opeth metal pop-music, kinda, because everybody who enjoys metal knows Opeth)

(and usually that same arrogant attitude does not only apply on musics taste. Its like some kind of rebel-teenie war the "alternatives" is having (and losing) against the "normal"/pop-people) ... parenthesis D:

Depends on the definition of overrated. They aren't exactly the most known nor loved band in existence. I could mention one that could be considered overrated, if anyone: Johnny Cash. Yes, I like SOME of his songs... But he's made thousands, and I've only heard a few I'd actually say was good. But that's just me. I'm not even into the genre. So I suppose he's good. I mean, even making songs people who don't like country, like. So uh... yeah... fuck that.

Oh, but to the comment on pop music: Was I saying pop music sucks? No, I was not! Thanks for making up your own little thoughts about me in your head, based on nothing. I have no problem with pop music per se, I just consider it to lack variety. 80% of them seem to be about how one person's heart was broken. The rest of them being about how someone would walk through fire for someone.

I actually do enjoy some pop (even Robbie fucking Williams). So hah. In your face... I suppose.

And Opeth = pop? Well, that's an arguable statement.

EDIT: I kind of agree with you about metalheads trying to stay away from mainstream music. But I don't think I would fit there. I like In Flames. As mainstream as Melodic Death Metal gets.

The Mars Volta - "Cicatriz ESP"

And there is NO WAY IN HELL that you can call them pop. If you do, I will force you to listen to Televators for a week. Not that that's actually going to torture you...
