I think it's OK to have one or two "Spam topics"! Who needs more? You just come to site and post something in one of those two Spam topics and you are calm! (just like me above)

I have no reason to do it..

anyway.. this topic is on its way to become a spam-topic... you might see that the posts are getting less and less serious...

An old saying is one man's trash is another's treasure. What someone considers a "junk" post meant to "increase post count" may be simply a joke, or something made for fun.

Which is of course never a reason not to close it due to spam.

I can't think of a reason which would stop an admin to close a topic due to spam if the topic is going out of hand. If it would happen in Troubleshooting, I would do it promptly too.

I'd like it to be made crystal clear what spam is considered here according to the staff. Is it any topic that doesn't relate to gaming? Anything that results in arguements or single word posts? This would help "cut down on spam" greatly.
All post that are not related to the topic at hand is spam. Talking about your aunty Mae's grown in toe nail in a topic about our latest addition would be obvious spam. This does not mean any non-gaming related post is spam. We have several sections of the forum that are not even supposed to have discussions about games or gaming. Also topics can wonder a bit over the course of a discussion. This is also not spam but a natural thing. Just don't let it go too far off topic.

If spam is anything not about games, wouldn't that mean that the whole Blah, blah, blah section was spam?

I personally don't like those threads like "Name Game" etc.. Not for me.
And I like what Picard says, only one going on at the time. That's more than engough, in my opinion.
