Love anything by Jeremy Soule (Morrowind, Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale etc.)

I still listen to the Icewind Dale bonus soundtrack that came with the game.

I dig the Blues, and I thought the music for Railroad Tycoon 2 was catchy.

Hmm... that's a difficult one, seeing as my game music archive reaches about a hundred titles by now.

Fifth Horseman, any particular place you go to look for great game music?

I want to mention the soundtrack from Planescape Torment, from Heroes II and III and from Medieval: Total War... just beautiful especially the oriental themes.

My most favourite game scores are:
1. Alien Trilogy (the music in this game is one of the most awesome I heard so far)
2. Hexen 2 (also great music that creates the feeling of medieval, mesopotamian / egyptian and aztec moods depending on the individual music tracks)
3. Planescape - Torment
4. Lands of Lore & Lands of Lore 2 - in my opinion also some of the most awesome game scores, especially the digital music in part 2.
5. Blood & Magic - little known, almost forgotten today but great game. It has very well made attractive music scores which I enjoed as much as the game itself. Too bad it isn't well playable anymore today in DosBox or under VDMSound...
6. Secret of Mana (since the topic doesn't define any certain platform :P)

Hmm... difficult to name a one, so I'll just name a few.

Unreal (yea, I just love tracker music)
Quake III Arena (simply because some tracks were made by FLA (Front Line Assembly) and FLA is great)
Descent II (another great intensive industrial soundtrack from Mark Morgan, Ogre of Skinny Puppy and some others!)
World of Warcraft (I hate the game ever since I quit playing it but I love that soundtrack)
Jets'n'Guns (woohoo, Machinae Supremacy 4tw)

p.s. ...and of course Tristram theme from Diablo, but I bet anyone who heard that track can't take it out of head anymore.

Being the old-school that I am, I still remember rocking out to the mod files from Star Control 2. It's even cooler when you know the story.

What to hear the story?

When Fred Ford and Paul Reiche III were given liscence to make a sequel to Star Control they planned this epic thing. Once they settled down to the idea they realied they had little or no budget for what they wanted to do.

In a stroke of inspiration they went to music related BBSs and posted a contest. The winner got something like $50 bucks, to runners up got $25, and everyone else got used in the game. They paid $100 (out of their own pocket) and Star Control 2 got it's unique sound.

Jazz Jackrabbit 2 has awesome music. Best I've heard (I don't really pay attention to music in games).

Hey, I'm currently re-playing that game and yes, it has a great soundtrack I didn't know about J.S., but maybe he's worth checking out then.
