Default trouble with troubleshooting

To avoid opening topics surely discussed a thousend times I tried the thread "Look here first". As expected I found a link for "what to do with .iso, .bin etc. files" but it opened just another tab with abandonias forum main page. Search-machine also failed, so I do not know what to do now.

Thanks for helping.

Okay, I found the thread in troubleshooting-archive but it does not help anyway.

I mounted a virtual cd-rom drive with virtual clonedrive but neither dos-box nor dos-window under xp recognize this drive properly. It means I can not install from "cd-rom" drive what is necessary to play. (B.A.R.I.S in that case)

do you know how to mount non cd rom drive in dosbox? if you do then the image mounting command is

imgmount [drive] [real drive] -t [type]

for example

imgmount d:\ e:\ -t iso

Oh, I see- I need some lessons in dos-box using, urgently.
But in that special case it does not help, because "Type bin is unsupported".

CUE/BIN pairs are the preferred CD-ROM image type as they can store audio tracks compared to ISOs (which are data-only). For the CUE/BIN mounting always specify the CUE sheet.
If you have no CUE, just rename the BIN to an ISO. If it doesn't work then, let us know.

Yes, the "Look here first" thread stopped working with the new board links. I am supposed to look into it... Someday...

For the time being, do not hesitate to open a new thread for every single problem that you have. We will link to the right page if need be.

BARIS should have a .cue file, because it has audio tracks. If it doesn't, you could try using the one I attached to the post, but first you have to edit the first line, so that the .bin file referenced in there is the same as yours.

Okay, thank you guys- finally it works. I did not know that it is necessary to mount the real drive first before imgmounting the virtual drive at the same place...

But it wont be the last lesson... LOL
