Is there any way I can keep the aspect ratio of a game using VDMSound?
Aspect ratios work great with DOSBox but unfortunately DOSBox is slow for games such as Fatal Racing (Whiplash). Some games use the 16:9 or even a 16:10 aspect ratio but when I play them with VDMSound, they get scaled into a 5:4, which is the aspect ratio of my monitor and it looks ugly. I tried centered output option on my video card but the image is too small to enjoy the game. So, is there any other way I can get 16:9 or 16:10 scaling (with black bars on top and bottom) on my 5:4 monitor without using DOSBox? |

to be honest I never heard of it.
DOSBox is quite unique in that respect. did you try the following commands in dosbox before starting the game ? Code:
core dynamic cycles auto

running on a P4 2.0ghz machine with 512mb memory (rdram) there has to be some way to scale a MS DOS screen into 16:9 for the game if i had a CRT monitor, i could just scale the image with the monitor menu the LCD monitors dont offer that |
