Hey,
I found Abandonia some days ago and recovered some wonderful classic games I almost forgot since then. I would like to give something back to the Abandonia community - thus I looked for some games not yet listed in the Abandonia database on my hard drive. I found:

Commander Keen 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, Dreams
I think most of you should know these jump'n'runs as they are really "must-have"-games...

Cyril Cyberpunk
Freaky side scrolling jump'n'run... Reality Studios: " It is the year 2224, and a boy called Cyril Smith is scanning the galactic airwaves, when he intercepts a message from an alien scout ship about the impending invasion of Earth. He becomes Cyril Cyberpunk, and traces the ship to Central Park. His worst fears are realized when he discovers that they are a race of mutant cyborg TEDDY-BEARS! And so an amazing adventure begins."

Duke Nukem 1, 2
Could be the shareware version..

Dynablaster
Bomberman clone

Jill of the jungle 1, 2, 3
Jump'n'run. JotJ 1 was the first computer game I ever played :-)

Lode Runner
Collect all items while avoiding the enemies!

MegaMan X
Don't know - couldn't make it run.

Tony And Friends in Kellogs Land (german)
Great advertising jump'n'run game for a corn flakes producer. You play either as a tiger, frog, bird or some other animal I forgot. Every character has it's own special ability (run, swim, fly, ...) you have to use to win the game.

Turrican 2
Couldn't make it run, presumably because it needs some unusual memory settings or something.. it's explained in the game's setup file.

Bifi 2 - Action in Hollywood (german but I think you can set it to english as well)
Wonderful advertising adventure game for the "pocket sausage" (I don't know how to call that in english) "Bifi". You are a young delivery boy who's task is to deliver a move script to a film-studio. The game is very funny with a great humour and lots of incredibly comical allusions to famous movies (like Star Trek or Alien vs. Preditor I think)

Captain Zins (german)
Advertising adventure made by a german bank.

Dunkle Schatten 1, 2 (german)
Adventure.

Telekommando 2 - Das Telekommando kehrt zurück (german)
Great advertising adventure for a german phone company (strangely the company had a governmental monopoly then..). You are a phone technican who is called to an office building to repair a video conference thing or something. Soon you find out that strange things are going on - a floor is blocked for the elevator..

Victor Loomes (german)
Detective adventure.

Framed
Some kind of side-scrolling adventure jump'n'run mix. I never played it but it looks very interesting.. You lost your memory and you are locked into a foreign jail.

Monopoly
An implementation of the famous board game.

Bard's Tale 1, 2, 3
A typical old role playing game.

Aces Of Europe
Never played.

Eishockey Manager (german)
Manage an ice hockey team.

Energie Manager (german)
You have to build up a restaurant or so while being as eco friendly as possible.

Tankwars
Never played.

--------

My main problem is: I don't know anything about copyrights / whether I'm allowed to upload these games.. Please help me.

I know the Keen series, Duke Nukem and Jill of the Jungle aren't abandoned.

Megaman is ESA protected.

Lode Runner is abandoned, according to the oldwarez list.
Same for Turrican 2.
Same for Framed.
Same for Bard's Tale, although 1 isn't listed.

Aces Of Europe, can't find it. If you mean Aces Over Europe it's ESA protected.

As for Tankwars, no idea.

Cyril Cyberpunk, not on the oldwarez list. Reality Studios, not on the ESA-list either, but that one's outdated, I believe?

Bifi 2 - Action in Hollywood is freeware, and should go on AR.

And I don't know if the site's interested in german games. Propably only if they're only available in that language (Most of them are difficult to find anyway, and I'll leave that to a better searcher :P ).

Pfew, that's all, I believe

Final edit (I hope): Yes, you should contact an admin about this

The best thing to do is propose that games(only the abandonware) to some Admi, and if you like to help make a review.... k:

You can find some sticky threads in the request forum, which have informations about this.

I think, the Commander Keen games are a clear no-go, because they are from id software.

Edit: Doubler and little fish were faster. :tai:

Thanks for your replies. To sum it up:

Good:
Lode Runner
Turrican 2
Framed
Bard's Tale 1, 2, 3
Cyril Cyberpunk (it's available for download at "the underdogs" so it should be abandoned)
Dynablaster (also available @ underdogs)

Good if german games are accepted:
Bifi 2 (advertising game)
Telekommando 2 (advertising game)
Tony and Friends in Kellogs Land (advertising game)
Captain Zins (advertising game)

Not good:
Commander Keen 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, Dreams
Duke Nukem 1, 2
Jill of the jungle 1, 2, 3
Aces Over Europe (you were right - it's "over" not "of")

Still unknown:
MegaMan X
Dunkle Schatten 1, 2
Victor Loomes
Monopoly
Eishockey Manager
Energie Manager
Tankwars

Actually, that is not a 'so' necessarily.
But I've done what I can. There are people who propably know better then I do.

Oh, and Megaman = Capcom = ESA protected = no go (Unless there's something strange with that)

No one seems to know the good sites http://www.dosgames.com or http://www.dosgamesarchive.com. What they offer is limited, but there are many games out there (including Frames <although shareware> and they hosted Blood and Skyroads long before Abandonia).
But I prefer Abandonia.

For that matter I want to be evocative of Oxyd Magnum Gold (the ultimate version HotU doesn't have). I uploaded it to the content server a long time ago...

[edit] I was so motivated when I remembered that I was too stupid to do this per PM. [/edit]
