Ok if you had windows98 you would not need the bootdisk f you dual booted them so you could go into windows98 to play dos games use xp to download games and if games did not work inside windows98 you could run them from the dos commnad promot aka the option to restart in MS-DOS mode.

Well i could have, but i do not own a legal copy of win98, so i cant do that.

but i do like my solution though with the hardware/software that i got.

only the boot files and autoexec.bat and config.sys is on the bootdisk, rest of the cdrom/sound/mouse drivers is on the FAT32 partition. So its not like the computer takes long time to boot up.

Nice PC anyway it would be better having windows 98 on c:\ and you configre dos drivers for it and boot to win98 command promt to run the games after running a bat file you make in wordpad after copying the autoexec and renaming it. Anyway that is what I would do.

hmm why should i use WIN98? i dont have a registrered version, only have WinXP with reg key.

for what use do i need win 98?

With the computer i have build i have:

DOS 7.1 with bootdisk inserted, im playing the old games with this config.

or

Windows XP for when i need to download games
Better option is to have DOS shortcut(s) from Win98. (I posted this many times )

Reason to still run Win98 - compatibility issues with many games that XP has.

But because you don't have a copy of it, then never mind my post.
