A lot of us have seen the advertisements for Guitar Hero II on TV or in a magazine, but those of you that haven't played it probably blew it off as another cookie-cutter rhythym game. Well, this is not so, as GH has more to offer than any other rhythym game in history (excepting, of course, it's rival Dance Dance Revolution).
If you haven't heard of it, here's the scoop: you play along with rock/metal/soft rock songs using a specially formulated controller ----> That is used to rock out to the included songs such as Ozzy Osbourne's "Bark at the Moon", Pantera's "Cowboys from Hell" or even Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Free Bird". My question to the people of Abandonia are the ones included in the poll: do you like Guitar Hero? I personally love it, and have beaten both on Expert.

I'm really tempeted into getting this game, but I'm also a bit scared that I suck too much for it.
I've played a lot of these "rythm" games (the latest being the DANCE!-Beta from Acclaim), but they're mostly way too fast for me. I just can't think so fast, let alone control my fingers fast enough. |

Go for it, man, I started out really sucky too...I know can beat "Laid to Rest" on Expert with 98% accuracy. Case in point: anything's possible if you try.

i don't see how people enjoy these games (example DDR: your dancing around like a prat embarrassing yourself) guitar hero would be far less embarassing but still, rhythm games have never appealed to me at all.

Huh, I tried Frets on Fire and now I know I will NEVER buy Guitar Heroes.
Probably couldn't get past the first song, so it would be a waste of money for me. The only dancing game I was ever remotely good at was the one in the Bloody Towel in "Adventures in the Galaxy of Fantabolous Wonderment", so, yeah....... |

The game rocks! However, the game will have you cursing Randy Rhode's name the first time you try to play Ozzy's 'Bark at the Moon'.

On one of the loading screens it says "The crowd doesn't want to to play Free Bird, they're just heckling you." It's a joke. Like when all the knobs on the amp go to 11. |
