I'm looking for a good RPG that holds my attention for longer than 10 minuets

I've tried a few of the older Ultima games and I don't like having to write the dialogue. It'd also be nice to be able to choose race and alignment. Graphics are not an issue (note that I am a C64 user ).

Just something with lot's of neat places and characters

EDIT: Oh, yeah, and I'm mostly looking for Freeware or Abandonware, but any reccomendations to games that are still being sold are also accepted

Have you tried the RPGs that are on this site, and also AR?

Amberstar/moon are two of the best.
Arcanum is a great rpg.
Albion is very nice.
Bloodwych too.

Well, the thing is I have to pay per MB for the stuff I download so I don't want to DL every single game from the site

@efthimios: Thanks, I'll check those out

I really liked laxius power, its an rpg made in rpg maker 2000, so something similar looking to final fantasy 4-5

Just to be clear, you mean ES 1. Because ES 3, Morrowind, is still for purchase.

Though Oblivion should be out, early in December.

I just tried FF Endless Nova. Completely lost track of time with it and it's way past my bedtime

Will try some of the games you mentioned and please do mention some more if they come to mind

I tried Morrowind the other day on my bro's PC (since it wont run on mine). Looks pretty darn good but it's a bit slow though.
