Necessarily WimAMP or MediaPlayer? I always thought DivX could play DVDs, but I'm 3% sure.

There are many programs that can do this. The tricky part of getting it off the DVD and onto your computer. The process is a long one and I do not have the time right now to take you through it.

Try looking at this site. It has the answers you want. Make sure you do no convert to a too high bitrate and or resolution as your PDA would have trouble running it.

I use DVD Shrink to copy parts of it into ISO.

Yeah DVD Shrink will be able to copy it to harddrive and from there you need it to be created into a proper DIVX file or other. You'll be better off checking DIVX website to see what they offer of tools.
DVDShrink is free by the way.
