This is what happened to me today...
The blue screen appeared... /me O M G... ... what a %&$# !!! And she said to me that if I encountered her for the first time then I just have to restart my computer..., BUT if this is not my first encounter with "The Blue Lady", then I have to check mine disks, unplug new hardware, go to safe mode, blah, blah etc. Now I'm very afraid, what to do, what if she %&#"$ my computer ?! So if you know something I would appreciate it. Thanks EDIT: Sorry for the poetic expression... LOL And wrote wrong blue in the title! EDIT2: Maybe found out what is causeing the problem. That same day I accidentaly moved my modem to another PCI slot, then moved it again back. That way I got two modems in my "Control panel/modems" when I try to remove the false one get the blues screen saying what was described before. One last thing, now my conection is 14 kbps...

What os are you running on your system. If your running XP, I think there's something called Event System or something maybe in your windows folder, have to check it over, but anyway, in this file it logs any error that happens to your comp, like blue screens and such.

If you are running xp, and this happens right before windows loads, and it says it might be due to a hardware failure or some other crap troubleshooting options, then your windows might have gotton corrupted (happens to me all the time). Pop in your xp cd and go through the setup. Hopefully it says something like Setup is checking your harddrive. This is were its fixing your hdd. Then after its done, don't go throguh the setup anymore, just reset...

Win XP don't have blue screens. If you see something else than normal in XP then you're probably better to format and reinstall...

When the blue screen appears, there's usually a stop-code in the top part of the screen:
Code:
Stop 0x0000000A or IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL Check this page to see what these means. Usually it's a device driver problem, but it could be more serious. After you've verified the error, reboot and press F8 whilst booting then start XP in safe mode and disable the device that is causing trouble (in Device Manager). Good luck. BSOD's are bad, but no reason to start formatting your HD right away! |
