its not bout getting sunstroke but bout living in comunity, without any "rules and restrictions".. at least for a short time. you show your art and craft skills, its simillar to festival
and.. they do good things too

yes i have heard about this before. its a commune for a few days in the desert.ive been in a few communes. heres some rules about communes to bear in mind

rule1: any sighn saying no drugs here, or any people saying "were here for the experiance of the community , not drugs" = lots of drugs
rule2: any place where there are minimal rules will still have a kind of hippy council ruling over it. these people generally have no power in the real life so revel in there power and can be just as nazi as a council run by the *man*
rule3: "hey man were a really tight nit community here" = loads of infighting
rule4 "this is a place of free love" = people fighting over who they have been with. pologymy is nice in theory but in practice most people cant deal with it, there is always the fear that the other person might be better in bed than you ect
rule5: "hey man its safe to leave your stuff here" = you are going to be robbed

rule6: this is a very important rule. anybody who rants on about the enviroment then drives evrywhere in a petrol powered vehical is full of BS, and cannot be trusted. if they are lieing to themselfs thinking themselfs supirior when they are contributing to the destruction of the planet like evryone else, then they will definatly lie to you

rule7: do not hang around animal rights people. not unless you want to become very thin and very boring
rule8: do not buy chemicals *onsite* unless u get to taste the goods
rule9: be wary around trustfunders. they do not know what it is to go without and will steal rather than go without if they caned there months money on drugs already.
rule10: when doing acid keep a close eye on your wallet
rule11: if u accept a bottle being passed around a campfire there is a 18 percent probability its been laced with something funky.
rule12: if you dont shave your head u will get lice
rule13: kinda like rule 6. anbyone who is sat there dissing people who wear labels calling them sheep laugthing about how much people pay for labeled clothes, check out the handweaved hemp top they are wearing the sheepskin, ect, these clothes are *extremely* expensive. they are liars.
rule14: anyone who talks about *living without money* tends to be extremely rich off daddy or mommys back. do not trust them. they love having enougth money that they can sit around and talk about how it would be great to have a society with no money, but if they had no trust fund, how would they be able to sit around discussing it? they would have to work on a farm like evryone else
rule 15, communes get very paranoid as loads of drugged up epople spend ages around each other. reconise it when it starts and leave.

ok the burning man thing is a short term commune, so rule 15 doesnt apply and you are less likely to fall foul of rule 12. and unlikely anyone will be wearing sheepskin......
i have had some good times in communes but Also some bad ones. i learnt these rules the hard way and now u dont have to.
