EA unleashes a new sports title in their line-up each year, and it's an effective process.

People are actually suckered into buying them.

Only each year? Feels like they release a new one every few days.
The cover is also almost always the same, the favourite player of the season scoring a point (usually just before the ball goes into the goal/though the hoop/over the net/under the planet/over the sun/...)

Believe it or not, they have a huge legion of fans, so there are people that actually want to buy each new release.

of coarse they are, the sportsindustry is a very lucrative one in every possible aspect.

Another genre of games i have a love/hate relationship with is the first-person adventure one (like Myst) most of these are nervewrecking and impossible, involving puzzles with barely any hints as to how the player has to solve them.
However some of them (like Myst III) are just so captivating you just need to press on.
Myst IV is also very nice and not as dead as the first two games in the series, but I haven't finished it yet.

Who cares, I said adventure son, you be all like "it isn't first person" (What?).

No really Sanitarium is a great game, I think I've beaten it like, mmm, 3 times.
More or less Grim Fandango stacks right up there along with Sanitarium.

i've visited the site five times and each time I thought it was some osrt of joke "game" (like the Zombo.com website) but today I found out it IS indeed a game and you had to click on one specific spot before it finally started :tai: )

I don't really hate it..but the game "The Drowned God" can make a person rip out their hair and swear at the computer in frustration for days

I spent 12 hours clicking on stuff at a wall and watching things change trying to break a code...and I find out from a walkthrough that it was just scenary and had nothing to do with beating the game. I wanted to "Drown" the game designer at that point.
