Thumbs up Black Lamp [NON-PC]

I've looked all over ! l o l

Black Lamp

Captain Blood -- [Yes, I Checked Both "Captain Blood" FanSites! l o l They're Both Broken]

I'd like the PC versions, please, so I can play 'em with "DOSBox".

Thanks In Advance!

First of all: Change your signature picture, it's way to high!

Second: You have a poor eyesight:
Black Lamp - no PC version. [REJECTED: NON-PC SYSTEM]
Captain Blood - ever heard of HOTU? [APPROVED]

Thanks. I don't want to go widely off topic and probably there is a solution to your HOTU problem within these forums or directly at HOTU, but can you explain where you got stuck? Does the download page load?

Thumbs up

Thanks for helping, Luschen !

First off -- let me explain my late response ! L O L
I only have InterNet access on Tuesdays & Wednesdays so I'm just reading your response now ! L O L

OK ....
Whenever I try ta download a game from HOTU I see this ....

Oops, there has been an error!

If you're reading this page, that means you are trying to get the game that IS up on this site,
but somehow an error occurs.

You did not seem to come from the right URL.
This means the referrer has not been set properly, or you didn't come from the Home of the Underdogs at all.
Please see the FAQ for details on this.

This could be caused by one or more of the following:

1. You came here via a 'stolen link' -- i.e. sites that linked directly to our files without our permission.
Link-stealing is one of the worst kinds of plagiarism in cyberspace.
Please go to the proper Homepage to get these games where they belong.
If you are so inclined, please also let us know the address of that link-stealing site,
and inform its webmaster of this repulsive behavior.
Thanks in advance.

If you have come here via http://www.theunderdogs.org or http://underdogs.cjb.net, those are very out-of-date addresses that you shouldn't be using.

[I don't use any of those addresses -- C.]
Please bookmark http://www.the-underdogs.info (note the dash) instead and come back from that URL,
otherwise you will not be able to download anything here.

2. The server's too busy right now.
The traffic level is quite heavy because, as you can imagine, the bandwidth is occupied by a lot of download requests and little else. Please try to download at least *several* times at different times of day BEFORE you conclude that the link is broken.
Also, make sure you are downloading only one file at a time (not doing so will get you banned for a day).

3. You are using a proxy server that doesn't process our anti link-stealing script properly,
OR a program like WebWasher that hides or changes "referrer" tag --please disable any proxies you are using,
or turn the "remove referrer" setting OFF in your program.
If you're not sure how to disable proxies, please contact your ISP.
America Online in particular doesn't seem to handle the script properly (not surprisingly...)

4. You may also be trying to resume downloads with Getright or Go!Zilla improperly.
Please read the FAQ to learn how resume with these programs.
Thanks.

I see this no matter when I try & download ! l o l
So I don't think -- in my completely nonexpert opinion -- it's a "The Server's Too Busy" problem.
And that other technical stuff I've no idea what it means

Can ya help at all ?

Thanks In Advance!

Do you have norton security or zone alarm on your PC? Were several problems with those on HotU lately, look in tech help on their forum, you can find topics via the search function and how to avoid the 'Oops, there has been an error!' page.
You could also look up for 'Jorpho' there, in his sig there are also some links with solutions (refferer test and such...).

I checked for both using XP's SEARCH function & it doesn't look like either one's on this computer.

Now, it's not a big game, approx 260Kb, if you can't down it, PM me a valid email_adr, I'll send it to you.

PS:
BTW: it's a real bitch to get running in dosbox, but it works.
I may hope you know your way in dosbox blindfolded ..... Meheh. :P

You have it, the HotU zip, and included is a flopboot.img (game is also on it) for dosbox, with a howto. Needs a clean boot to run the game.

You should be fine with what's in the mail, euuuuu..... my contra mail adr is a spam box, so if you should have probs don't use it, is useless.

BTW: weird little game. <_<

*Edit
Forgot to mention, but you can use that blood.img to write a bootable floppy and boot your PC with it, works fine on my AMD64 3500+, the speed is OK, good programmed lil'game.
('IF' you have a flopdrive, seems the modern PCs doesn't need those our days.)
