Default Windows 10 not compatible

I have followed all of the instructions but I keep getting error messages telling me I need to ask my software provider if I can find a 64 bit version.

I have tried multiple times to get around it using a couple of different dos applications but none are working and all of your trouble-shooting seems to stop at Windows XP, which is pretty out-of-date now. Have I missed something?

Thank you!

Which programme are you in particular trying to run? If it's a windows programme then you'll have to pay attention to whether it's 32 or 64 bit. The two are not compatible at all. Usually we recommend XP because a lot of older programmes work on it in compatibility mode.

If you have a 32 bit programme and a 64 bit windows 10 system, perhaps try a virtual machine of some sort?

32-bit programs run on 64-bit; 16-bit ones don't...

Read the FAQ:

Try either DOSBox or this:
