Oregon Trail was great. I remember playing Oregon Trail and Lemonade Stand back in elementary school and having a blast. I always managed to drown someone at the river crossings though. I have the old Apple II version emulated and actually played this just a few weeks back.
I have to say though, for my money Lemonade Stand was a better game. |

It really was (is?) a great game, but it was really hard! Nearly everytime I played it, all of my people would die of disease
I think I made to the very end... once? But fun times nonetheless! k: |

this game used to just piss me off. EVERY time I crossed a river it'd flip over. Never happend hardly to anyone else! Then, ALWAYS when I was nearly at the finish, my people would start dropping of typhoid. you can keep that game. I preferred to play winter games.

The game certainly brings back memories from my elementary school days, played that game too much. But still fun after all.

I think while the other kids were playing Oregon Trail I was playing Joust and Crystal Castles...
Never liked edutainment games. Prefered to spear people while riding a flying emu... |

A friend and I were just talking yesterday about how swell this game is and how in our school system it seems like the only thing to do was play games (I remember skipping luches to play Mega Race). I personally think customizing it to have your friends be on the trip makes it ten times funnier (for humor value I put Jesus on the trip once and he died of cholera). I loved the second one so now I'm going to have to see if I can find it anywhere.

Oregon Trail....definitely reminds me of the good ole days in elementary school. In fact, it was the first game that I ever "conquered". (I was filled with pride for weeks!). Cruising around hunting for buffalo or the just trying to tag a little squirrel for something to eat was great..

That's right. I DID play that game, mostly for the hunting. Bought a rifle and a few thousand bullets and just hunted...
"Clem, you sure we're gonna need eight thousand pounds of bear meat?" "Yes, yes we will." |
