a handy idea from the IMDB
On the IMDB they have a whole seperate thread/forum for when people can remember a movie but don't know the title. People will post a description on the movie and everything they can remember and members will reply with "Oh yeah that's The Last Unicorn" or "hmmm, sounds like Zombie Slasher Squad 4".
Well a problem I have is that there were many games I saw when I was younger that because I was younger I either can't remember the name or don't know the name of. It'd be super handy to have a forum or thread for people like me for more experienced players to help us find these games that looked soooooo cool and fun and, hopefully, still are! Case in point: I used to see my uncle playing this game all the time that was a spaceship game and you could make your own crew and everything. Your crew could be androids, or various races. You'd go to planets and move around on them in some sort of vehicle and you could find ore and artifacts and even aliens who you could kill or you could stun and take back and like sell to the zoo or something. The meta-plot was that the sun was dying or something crazy. and I remember the space combat was mostly zapping them with a laser or shooting missles. I was so young all I did was hammer the laser button and not even try to move around. But you could upgrade your ship of course, level 2 laser, level 3, etc. And there was some sort of copy protection on it that if you didn't type in the right word from the game manual police would accost you and blow you out of the sky. Also when you met other people/races you could set your tone to being friendly, hostile, etc. So...seem like a good idea for a forum......and anyone know what game that was?!??! Thanks! |

Usually, people open a thread in Requests, or Favourite Oldies and Newbies.

Maybe that sub needs to be renamed? Something as:
Forum for when people can remember a game but don't know the title. Maybe? Ok ok ok, nevermind.

Yeah. You just technically found the idea by posting here.
Case of point: To all moderators and admins: Not every "What game is this" thread is a request thread. So if its not posted in the requests, its not a AB-game request. Im talking about the recent Frets on Fire thread. |

True, TC, but most I've seen are turned by the OP into a request the moment the game is identified.
