I bought this game on steam. At first i had no idea what's going on, then I clicked the manual button in steam and I found the manual. It's not needed, but it's a fun and effective way to keep track of your spells and get some extra story. Armed with the manual and a digital pen I started playing this game and I must say it is one of the most enchanting games I've ever played. (The one sold on steam is the talkie version, the voice acting is top notch for a 1990 games, so definitely check it out)

EDIT: Actually i found out that it isn't the manual itself but rather the Book of Patterns. I'm really glad lucasarts uploaded this as the manual and not the actual manual.

Hey, what's up with the Editor Rating? Only a 3.0 despite the review ending with:

Quote:
All in all, the game is a masterpiece, made by professional artists, and because of this it shouldn't be missed, even though it'll cost you a little (the game is protected!). It was made in the golden days of Lucasfilm Games/Lucasarts, in the era of games such as Monkey Island, Sam and Max, Full Throttle, and many more... It definitely deserves 5 points.
A mistake?

This is one of my all-time favourites. It seems the editor's rating has been corrected to a well deserved 5 meanwhile.

Maybe the editor's rating could be replaced by a staff-rating in general. The result would be a well founded average based on the opinion of numerous classic game enthusiats, not a snapshot of one person's view the particular moment when the review was written.

Just an idea..

Those four letters will always have a meaning to me, and that is Loom.
Never have I played a game as wonderful as this.
