Hi I'm bobo from England, just introducing myself as I think its just the polite thing to do.

I need a game, dos or win based, either is fine. But I need something to fill my time, as I keep going out, spending all my money and drinking far far too much and I need something addictive to keep me in.

I do like a good RPG, but more importantly a game with a good story, something you can get into and enjoy, and something that doesnt take 2 minutes to complete. Some of my favorite games so you get an idea of my likes:

Mechcommander 1+2 (strategy games, a bit like C+C style but more action)
Zelda- a link to the past (on the snes, best game ever)
Ultima IV on the master system, a huge game for such a simple console
and there are more, but those are the main ones.

Hopefully this is a nice forum to new members, too many forums arent, but any help on a good game would be much appreciated

Cool, theres a whole load of games that you´ll probably like then, mate.

Also try Abandonia Reloaded at www.reloaded.org - that´s got good freeware games on it (and is technically more legal than here).

Oh yeah, welcome to the forum. I hope you like it.

Welcome Bobobaxta.
I would advice you to browse around and try out the various games on the site. Some might surprise you, and it'll broaden your horizons k:

Oh, and be sure to follow Prejudice's advice.

You could try Wizardry VII or World of Xeen, both downloadable here on Abandonia. Or did you want an advice on any game on the market ? In which case i would suggest Baldur's Gate 2 (fantasy) or Fallout 1&2 (post-nuclear) or Knights of the old republic (aka Kotor, Star Wars universe).

If you want a good story, how about Beneath a Steel Sky?

Edit: Scratch that, I missed the RPG bit.

UFO : Enemy Unknown is possibly my favourite game ever (actually basing my GCSE Graphic Products on it), I recommend that.

Most of the RPGs are good too, Blade Of Destiny is excellent.

Jagged Alliance is good too.

And by the way, if you´re using XP then I recommend that you get DOSBox and D-Fend ASAP.

Last night I spend the evening downloading win98 drivers and making an image on a 9gb harddrive, as I have had endless problems with dosbox.

@ A J Raffles, RPG isnt critical, I like to feel in a character, or be in a story, I like to be closer to aN RPG than a first person shoot em up (unless of course its goldeneye)

How actiony are those RPG's? I find sometimes they can sometimes get boring if lacking.

Is everyone this friendly? I would be shocked if there wasnt a forum loud mouth

There are some, they just aren't up and running right now, different time zones you know.
