DOSBox main use is to play old DOS games. Please note that DOSBox emulate a 486 or a very slow Pentium and that no games in that time was using 3D at all.

Because of this reason I think your question is not revelant. Sorry about that.
Actually, there were 3D games already. Wolfenstein 3D, Doom, Doom II, Nitemare 3D, Duke Nukem 3D, Heretic, Hexen... And quite some of them came out before Pentium became spreaded around.

Try to get your self Pentium or PII computer and you'll be able to play them without problems.

I just installed Dark Forces, Q1 and Q2, DN3D, Doom1, 2 and couple of other games other day. Planning to finish them all over the summer. (After I'm done with Settlers, which takes almost a day-two per mission, sometimes even more )

Actually Doom, Wolfenstein and the likes are not 3D games. They use sprites to "try" to emulate 3d. Pretty sure Wolfenstein should work great on DOSBox tough since I remember playing it on a 386. Might need to size down the viewing screen tough. Doom should also work.

As for Duke Nukem 3D, it would never run on a 486 and would limp on a slow Pentium. I know for sure since I played that game for age.

Have you increased your DOSBox cycles? What processor do you have?

For Doom, you could try and find the Windows version - works fine on my XP system after a bit of patching.
