This reply is belated, but it should help others who have recently downloaded Turok and want to ditch the annoying glide2x.dll error message when they start the game. I'm using Windows XP and I've discovered that switching the compatibility mode of the executable to Windows 98 will eliminate the message completely. The game still plays flawlessly too. This is the first time in 8 years of XP usage that the backwards compatibility feature has actually helped me. :amused:

WASD click-to-kill was too confusing for developers back then, and they clearly had no idea people would want to change the control scheme, so they decided that the options menu didn't need a 'configure controls' setting.

I loved this game as a kid. I had it on Nintendo 64 (), though, so it weirded me out to find it for the PC.
I remember it almost perfectly: dudes are ridiculously easy to kill (one or two swings from your knife will do), dinosaurs are a bit tough, and I never seemed to be able to finish it. I got stuck where there's a bunch of gates. Apparently, I didn't collect something. I guess I'll just have to play it again and find out! Last edited by DarthHelmet86; 26-01-2011 at 04:42 AM. P.S.: some instructions/controls would be nice.
