Mock-Up Arcade Machine starring Mortal Kombat II and Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3
Everybody wants a Mortal Kombat arcade machine, but most people like me can't afford to buy one. My answer to this? Make your own! And that's exactly what I did.
This is what I used: -An old wooden desk facing backwards in front, with a board attached to the lower front so you don't see what's running the machine -A nice 20" TV -2 SEGA Saturns (one for MKII and one for UMK3) -4 SEGA Saturn controllers (2 for each system) -An S-Video cable for the MKII Saturn -Mortal Kombat II and Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 for SEGA Saturn. I still have to decorate it and everything, so I'll upload a pic of it once it's completely finished. |

A lot of people do this...though normally they use a PC and have emulators running the games. Often they hand craft the cabinet and controls to their liking.
Looking forward to your pics. |

I did do that before, but it was too much trouble to set up. I know the Saturn versions of the games aren't the best versions out there, but they're easier to have in a cabinet.

Here's how the machine looks thus far.
I still need to add decorations to it, but what else do you think I should do to improve how it looks? EDIT: Sorry about the blurry pic. I only have a phone camera and it really sucks. |

Nice work, SpiDoL.
For our arcade machine we just bought an empty arcade machine cabinet and built a computer into it. |

Nice , maybe you could bring it to the next level building the wood/plastic cabinet, including the TV inside the package and adapting it to your needs.
Of course, there's no need to make it huge or professional. |

@Japo:
NICE! Next time I visit my Dad, I'll give those blueprints to him and we can try building it. UPDATE: The machine will now only be a UMK3 machine, and I'm gonna use an old-and-abandoned-but-good computer to run it. I have controllers I can use for the machine. Now, what do you think of artwork: Marquee Side Art Control Panel Because I'm using gamepads for the machine, I only need this picture for where the control panel's supposed to be.
