I guess we need to get everyone who had their review stolen to send to fax a copy of the form in. With their details and stuff like that so that paypal has proof so they have to ban the guy.

Okaaay, so I have the fax (thanks Win98 ) but looking over it, it seems that the most appropriate person (legally) to send it would be Kosta, and perhaps have it countersigned by those who have had their reviews stolen (not that that would be wholly necessary, but if it could be done with too much trouble would be worth it.)

It's alot of hassle and bother just to complain, but this guy is a theif so why should he go unpunished?

And still that form must have been devised to claim copyright infringement on something sold via PayPal, while this leech is showcasing the stolen reviews for free and he's only charging for linking to the also stolen downloads. I'd love to see this leech out of business but PayPal won't try to understand this issue's nuances. <_<

Copyright is copyright. He does not have the permission to use our reviews.

What he does with the reviews is using them for advertising his business. Ergo, it is connected with the Paypal stuff.

I have some ideas, albeit nasty ones.

First, put in ALL of our game archives a text note reading
Quote:
Downloaded from Abandonia.com

This file has been downloaded from www.Abandonia.com, the home of abandonware DOS games.

If you paid for downloading it, you have been ripped off and have every right to demand return of your money.[/b]
Or something to that effect.

The second idea is to rename the archives on the server and in the locations of the current ones (ergo the ones that are being leeched), put up a bunch of textfiles with something like "You have been cheated. This game is free for download from www.abandonia.com. If you paid for downloading it, demand the return of your money.".
Alternatively, Zips of Death would not be so bad either.

Yes it's a good idea. But we should get in touch with Kosta and get him to sign the form as well.

Just out of interest, what are/is "Zips of Death?"

I think the added textfile is a good idea Fifth Horseman, provided that people actually open it (I don't usually bother reading text files that accompany free downloads.)

Also, Win98 I shall pm The Man In Charge and see what we can do about this ridiculous fax.

Anyways, Paypal has to pay attention because as well as stealing Abandonia's reviews he is charging for the games and he has games available that are still sold and protected etc. etc.

If you put a comment on rar on zip file, the winrar automatically shows it when the file is opened.
